We hope everyone’s been enjoying their summer—or winter, for our friends in the southern hemisphere. It’s been very busy on all fronts, including different routines and camps for the little ones, so please excuse us as we skip the July Gyaff and go straight to August’s.

Our Next Short Stop

Advance copies of the next book in our Short Stops series arrived on Monday and the full run is due to arrive next week.

We’ll be making copies available as follows:

• Current publisher’s rights-holders: Monday, August 17th at 10 a.m. ET.
• Public: Wednesday, August 19th at 10 a.m. ET.

We typically begin shipping on the same day we begin accepting Short Stops orders, but this time shipping will begin on Thursday August 20th as we work around our summer schedule. 

New Production Status Page

We now have a Production Status page on the website. This was meant to be introduced with our new website, but we decided to add it now as we have so many projects on the go and the website is taking longer than planned (two years and counting). For now it only tracks titles that have been pre-ordered, but we’ll soon be including titles not yet released. 

Individual Title Updates: Books Already Pre-ordered

Some of the titles below have slipped a little, but there’s promising news on the binding front. Ludlow Bookbinders have been training new staff since the start of the year, and as of mid-July many of them have joined the team on Conversation Tree Press titles—there are now more binders on our books than ever before.

There’s a good deal of catching up to do and it won’t happen overnight, but this is part of a broader effort to shorten the gap between pre-order and delivery, alongside the investments we’ve made in securing custom-made papers, commissioning artwork earlier, and collaborating with more book designers.

And of course, we’ve now had seven Short Stops, and counting, with no wait at all.

Weird. Volume 2: Ramsey Campbell’s Cold Print & Others

Cold Print & Others Collector’s Editions orders have all been fulfilled. 

Deluxe copies destined for Europe were all shipped out while the rest of the books were making their way here. Those arrived yesterday and we’ve already started packing them. We expect to have them all out by the end of the week. 

The Lettered Edition is well underway and will be shipping directly from the bindery to all collectors next month.

Jules Verne’s Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Seas

Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Seas is well underway alongside Foundation and Empire. We’re expecting all three states to be finished in September.

Isaac Asimov’s Foundation and Empire

Isaac Asimov’s Foundation and Empire is being worked on alongside Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Seas, and we expect the Collector’s and Deluxe Editions to be ready in September, just in time for pre-orders of those two states of Second Foundation.

The Lettered Edition will take a bit longer, and we’ll begin accepting pre-orders for Lettered Second Foundation after Foundation and Empire has been delivered. 

Guy Gavriel Kay’s Tigana

The Deluxe and Lettered book blocks of Guy Gavriel Kay’s Tigana, complete with tipped-in artwork, are at Ludlow.

We had the cloth covers of the Collector’s Edition reprinted to our satisfaction and all the books have been cased in at Gomer. They’ll soon be at Ludlow for the slipcases to be made. 

We’re still expecting all three states to be ready in October. 

Emily St. John Mandel’s Sea of Tranquility

The printed sheets for Emily St. John Mandel’s Sea of Tranquility are also at Ludlow and we expect books to be ready in November 2026.

China Miéville’s Perdido Street Station

We’re still at the proofreading stage for China Miéville’s Perdido Street Station. Once this is complete, we’ll have these printed and the Collector’s Edition cased in at Gomer.

Individual Title Updates: Upcoming Books
