One of Annie Stegg Gerard’s paintings for our upcoming edition of Lord Dunsany’s The King of Elfland’s Daughter

Things didn’t slow down one bit in December here at CTP Headquarters, and January has been more of the same. Here’s a look at some of the things that have been keeping us busy.

    Codex Book Art Fair

I’ll be heading to San Francisco tomorrow to attend the Codex Book Art Fair. Looking forward to meeting old friends and making new ones while seeing what some of today’s very best book artists are working on.

Interview with Paul Kidson of Ludlow Bookbinders

Our friend Zach of Collectible Book Vault interviewed our other friend—Paul Kidson of Ludlow Bookbinders. There’s a lot of information about the bindery, it’s history, and Paul and his team’s approach to their craft.

    Individual Title Updates

Weird. Volume 2: Ramsey Campbell’s Cold Print & Others

Cold Print & Others is delayed a bit due to the marbled paper coming in a little later than planned. Shipping is expected in April 2026.

Jule’s Verne’s Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Seas

Printing is complete for Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Seas. I received a set of book blocks for both the Collector’s Edition on the Munken Pure Rough Cream and the Deluxe/Lettered Edition on the Fedrigoni Acquerello and I’m really pleased at how they turned out. Taking the time to improve the interior design was well worth it and Pat and Ellen have done a marvelous job. It's now off to Ludlow Bookbinders. Shipping is expected in May 2026.

    Guy Gavriel Kay’s Tigana

Gomer Press is now in procession of everything they need to start printing Tigana and I've approved the soft proofs. Finished Collector’s Editions and the book blocks for the Deluxe and Lettered are expected to be sent to Ludlow at the end of February or early March. Shipping is expected around May 2026.

    Isaac Asimov’s Foundation and Empire

Foundation and Empire was also just handed over to Hand & Eye for printing, and they should be finished in April or May. We’re aiming to have Second Foundation ready for printing by the time Foundation and Empire is finished, ahead of pre-orders opening for that title. Shipping for Foundation and Empire is still expected in August 2026.

Emily St. John Mandel’s Sea of Tranquility

Sea of Tranquility is also on the press at Nomad Letterpress. Shipping is expected in November 2026.

    Cormac McCarthy’s The Road

The illustrator has started working on The Road and we’ve placed our order with the Losin mill for the custom, watermarked handmade paper for the Lettered and Roman Numeral. I’ll be chatting with Kate Holland, who will be working on the Roman Numeral Edition, at Codex over the weekend.

Lord Dunsany’s The King of Elfland’s Daughter

Annie Stegg Gerard has completed a few more pieces for our upcoming edition of The King of Elfland’s Daughter, each one as spellbinding as the next. You can see more on her Instagram. We already have ideas for the bindings in mind and will be working towards those later this year.

    That’s it for now.

    Best wishes,
    Tony
