Jana Heidersdorf’s Vision of New Crobuzon
We’re immensely pleased to announce Jana Heidersdorf as the illustrator for our upcoming limited edition of China Miéville’s Perdido Street Station. An “artist and illustrator of everything hauntingly beautiful,” she was the perfect choice to render New Crobuzon in all its gritty, grotesque, gaslit glory.

Here are two of her full-colour illustrations, one for each volume, which will be printed on the cloth covers of the Collector’s Edition and included as foldouts in the Deluxe and Lettered Editions.

The world of Bas-Lag is filled with fantastic creatures of all kinds, and Jana has done a splendid job of giving form to many of them. We worked very closely on structuring the artwork, selecting scenes, and getting the look and feel of the world exactly where we felt it needed to be.
The result is twenty-nine illustrations (four of them landscape/foldouts) spread across covers, full colour interior pieces, portraits, and pages from Isaac Dan der Grimnebulin’s notebook.

As always, all of the artwork will be included in each of the three editions, with all colour illustrations reproduced in full colour throughout. And the edition will not be reprinted.
Join us Monday June 22nd as we reveal our edition, three years in the making. Collectors with Deluxe and Lettered publisher’s rights will be able to pre-order their copies at that time, and pre-orders for all three states will open on Thursday June 25th at 12pm E.T.
