March Gyaff - A Trade War, Schedules, and More

Tom Kidd’s artwork from our edition of Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Seas.
This gyaff contains four parts: Trade War, Time Away, Production Update, and Schedules.
Trade War
We are a small, proudly Canadian independent publisher. A trade war negatively impacts everyone—not just companies like ours, but every individual and business on both sides of the US/Canadian border. A number of uncertainties remain and we are awaiting further guidance on a few key issues before making any fulfillment decisions for our US collectors.
Time Away
We booked some time away for the family months ago so we will be away from March 6th to March 13th. During this time no books will be shipped and email responses will be delayed. We expect to have a much better understanding of how these tariffs will affect our shipments upon our return.
Production Update
Peter Pan
The final few copies of the Standard Peter Pan arrived at the end of last week. These are the final copies of the edition that have been bound—after these are gone there will be no more copies available. We are awaiting more information on tariffs before deciding when copies will be made available for sale.
Faun
Additional copies of the Standard Faun were meant to be bound up but have been delayed. Apologies for the delay on this if you were waiting on a copy.
The Paper Menagerie
We have the remaining copies of The Paper Menagerie back in our workshop. The short version is that a significant number of copies had a small bit of glue spill onto the top of the book block during binding (these were not bound by Ludlow Bookbinders). We intended to have these rebound but will now instead sell them as dinged copies. We are awaiting more information on tariffs before deciding when copies will be made available for sale.
The House on the Borderland & Others
All three states are nearing the finishing line. The Collector’s and Deluxe Editions should be ready in two weeks with the Lettered soon after. At that point we will make decisions regarding fulfillment.
Foundation
After multiple delays, printing is set to start in just over a week. Thank you for your continued patience.
Solaris
Printing was completed yesterday and the sheets are on their way to Ludlow Bookbinders for binding. Matt Murphy also finished signing and stamping the colophon pages and they are on their way to Ludlow as well along with his remarques for the Lettered Edition.
Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Seas
If you pre-ordered a copy—on behalf of the many people who have worked on this book and will continue to do so, thank you so much for your support. We’re still going through final pre-production on this and are on track for Q4 2025.
Weird. Volume 2
I’m happy to report printing of this title will start next week, well ahead of pre-orders opening, and may even be complete by that time.
Schedule
Editions we publish typically fall into two categories:
Multi-State Editions
These are titles like Peter Pan, Faun, and Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Seas. They are published in more than one version, i.e. Collector’s Edition, Deluxe Edition and Lettered Editions; and Deluxe and Lettered books have rights associated with them.
For the foreseeable future, we have five multi-state editions planned for each year, not including any potential co-published editions. We continue to invest a great deal of resources into shortening the times between pre-orders and delivery for these books, and this has already borne fruit as mentioned above for Weird. Volume 2.
Here is the schedule for the remainder of 2025, listed in order and with approximate timing, though both of those are subject to change.
- May: Weird. Volume 2
- July: Tigana
- September: Foundation and Empire
- November: Unannounced science fiction title, signed by the author
For 2026, the following titles are planned, not in this order, and the exact time to be confirmed:
- Weird. Volume 3
- Second Foundation
- Perdido Street Station
- Kindred
- Unannounced title
- + Snow Crash, co-published with Subterranean Press
Short Stops
Short Stops books have a slightly smaller trim size, are devoted to shorter works, and are available in a single version only: a hardcover quarter binding in cloth and hand marbled paper. But perhaps most importantly—there will never be pre-orders for these titles. They will always begin shipping on the same day we begin accepting orders.
The first two in this series were The Paper Menagerie and There Will Come Soft Rains. We have a number of others in the works, some classic and some contemporary. We did announce the third in this series for March, but that now looks unlikely. So in the future there will be no set public schedule—they’ll be ready when they’re ready.
The number of Shorts Stops titles we do every year will vary, and we plan to have at least one more this year, perhaps two if things go well.
As always, thank you for your enthusiasm and support.
