This is the first CTP multi state edition to get in my hands and I'm very impressed. I hadn't read the story itself previously and clearly Tony has taste you can trust and I thoroughly "enjoyed" this fairly harrowing and disturbing short story.
With respect to the production I love the paper selections for the binding especially the somewhat alarmingly named Elephant Hide paper on the spine. The endpapers are also very apropos with the coltskin embossing. The artwork of course was fantastic and I really appreciated the placement of the images. A lot of illustrated books put art a couple of pages before the scene plays out in the text.
I was quite surprised to find a divider made of what might be some kind of handmade paper separating part I and part II of the story. This wasn't anywhere on the spec sheet that I could see so it was a pleasant discovery.
Amazing quality. Everything from the illustrations to the binding is top notch. And it looks gorgeous too.
The story is phenomenal, of course, but the illustrations really add to the atmosphere. The spine of the book is unique. So glad to have this little volume.
I decided I must buy Faun after seeing the video online. I was prepared for it to be a nice book. I was not expecting it to be as beautiful as it is in person! I feel like Tony just does an incredible job, and I am lucky to own some of the books he has made. I am grateful that he makes the Collectors Edition, which is a price point I can afford and a book I will treasure forever.
It´s my first book from CTP an it´s really a work of art. The interior design (I really like the copper Paiper in the middel of the story), the craftsmanship, the art and the story all are really masterfully executed.
