Peter Pan Wins Second Place at Alcuin Awards for Excellence in Book Design
The Deluxe state of Peter Pan, our very first book, has won second place at The Alcuin Society Awards for Excellence in Book Design in Canada. The winning books from the competition are exhibited both nationally and internationally, and nominated for the Best Book Design from all over the World competition in Leipzig, Germany. A copy will also become a part of the permanent collection at Deutsches Buch- und Schriftmuseum (German Museum of Books and Writing).
Peter Pan finds itself in the company of other presses and book makers whose work I’ve long admired—Barbarian Press’s An Avian Alphabet tied for first place with Greenboathouse Press’s If the Winds Come. Jan Elsted, Crispin Elsted, and Jason Dewinetz are all very nice people to boot.
And finally, copies of Peter Pan have also been acquired by the Thomas Fisher Rare Book Library at the University of Toronto; the Rare Books and Special Collections Library at the University of British Columbia; and the Special Collections Library at the University of Victoria.
The response from collectors, institutions and the team of judges at the Alcuin Society has been a delight for everyone involved. If you haven’t had the pleasure as yet—copies are still available.
A production update is coming next week along with the pre-order timing for our edition of The House on the Borderland & Others.
